This training introduces participants to basic psychological first aid (PFA). This course is for volunteers in the Social Support for Asylum Seekers projects.

This training introduces participants to basic psychological first aid (PFA). The training is suitable for all people providing direct care and support to people in distress. The learning objectives for this course are to: know what psychological first aid is and what it is not; understand the three action principles of 'Look, Listen and Link'; learn about reactions to distress; have considered complex reactions and situations; and be aware of the importance of self-care when helping others.

Date and time: Tuesday, May 31st. Location: Efstaleiti 9, 103 Reykjavík.
Instruction language: English only with limited translation offered.
Modality: Face to face. Interactive and participatory learning 
Food: Light snacks will be provided and coffee and water will be available.
