This course is a preparation for future volunteers in projects with refugees. It provides with tools to implement psychological support with refugees during the projects. The course is taught in English and Icelandic.

In this course, participants will be introduced to Psychological support when working with refugees. The course is for those who want to become volunteers in refugee projects. Psychological support is support for people where an attempt is made to meet their social and psychological needs - e.g. the need for active listening, the need for social connections and the need to express one's feelings. During the course, volunteers get tools to strengthen their skills and knowledge to provide better support to the refugees they work with in a project. Psychological support is also a helpful tool in everyday life when interacting with family and friends.
