Day Centers for People with Mental Health Problems

The Red Cross is involved in running several day centers for people experiencing mental health problems. These day centers are designed to provide individuals with a sheltered environment where they can come and receive hot meals, read, play, practice a variety of hobbies and crafts, or go for walks. The focus is on activating visitors towards participation and decision-making. The guests participate in house meetings and take on any tasks and chores that are needed, according to each individual´s abilities.

The aim is to reduce isolation, lessen prejudice and improve the quality of life for people experiencing mental health illnesses.
