Constitution of the Icelandic Red Cross

Current constitution was approved by the General Assembly in May 2020. The Icelandic Red Cross is an independent organization that operates as an auxiliary to the government, but always in accordance with the seven fundamental principles. The Icelandic Red Cross is neither a governmental institution nor wholly seperate non-governmental organization (NGOs). The relationship to the Icelandic authorities is defined by our previous mentioned auxiliary role and by the fundamental principles.
